Luxury Outlook
An ambitious exploration into high-end residential markets across the globe.
Think about all the ways in which you consume and create content online. You pull out your smartphone or tablet, or maybe you boot up a notebook computer during an extended wait at the airport. Perhaps at home you have a large desktop computer, perfect for photo editing or watching videos on your Facebook feed.
While there are certainly pros and cons to the use of each of these devices for different tasks, they all have the exact same relationship with the user:
It’s an isolated, individual experience. Just you and the device.
Now contrast this to the way in which we consume content on our increasingly large TV screens. Whether it’s live content like major sporting events or the next big blockbuster you’ve just rented in HD, our TV screens lend themselves directly to a shared viewing experience that is entirely unique.
What’s more, the way the content itself is displayed on these larger screens is absolutely unmatched. HD videos and high resolution, professionally shot photography looks fantastic on a desktop computer, but when displayed in your home theater or living room, the results are truly stunning.
From a design perspective, creating applications for a “10-foot view” generates an opportunity to present a refined experience that can be instantly picked up by even the most casual of users. Additionally, the use of voice dictation to easily search, or the ways in which a shared experience can lead to fun new modes to feature content like our incredible properties, allow for an even more distinctive experience.
While we unquestionably interact with a considerable number of friends and contacts throughout our days due to personalized technology, the way in which the shared viewing experience of a large screen brings people together in one room opens up exciting new ways to connect with an audience. With Apple TV and the new tvOS platform leading the way, we’re incredibly enthusiastic about the opportunities this presents, and can’t wait to share more very soon.
Stay tuned.
