Sotheby’s | 1960s Icon Claudia Cardinale’s Chic and Sensual Style

Italian film actress Claudia Cardinale appeared in some of the most acclaimed European films of the 1960s and in numerous Hollywood movies alongside legends including David Niven, Rock Hudson and Henry Fonda. Dubbed ‘The Next Love Goddess’ by Esquire magazine in 1961, Cardinale also had an eye for beautiful, chic and sensual clothes.

In their nearly over online sale Claudia Cardinale: Dressing a Star (28 June – 9 July), Sotheby’s will auction around 130 pieces of haute couture and ready-to-wear items from the wardrobe of the award-winning film star. Worn by Cardinale in some of her great screen roles and at international film events, the collection pays tribute not only to Cardinale’s ability to act, but also to dress to perfection.
